Line 6 Helix 3.70 Update: More Amps, Effects, and Features

Line 6 has just released the Helix/HX 3.70 firmware update on November 16, 2023. This update brings a host of exciting additions, including 10 new amps, 9 new cabs, and 5 new effects, along with new features and bug fixes. It's a highly recommended update for all users.

Line 6 Helix/HX 3.70

In this update, Line 6 introduces six Original Amp Designs inspired by their popular Catalyst guitar amps. The models include Clarity, Aristocrat, Carillon, Voltage, Kinetic, and Oblivion. Each amp features a unique integrated boost circuit optimized for that specific model. You can easily assign the Boost parameter to a stomp switch, providing a quick and accessible way to enhance your tone.

Easy Update Process

Updating to version 3.70 is straightforward, but it's important to note that the process may take around 30 minutes or more due to the inclusion of thousands of additional IR files. Line 6 provides clear instructions for updating Helix/HX hardware and the HX One. Make sure to back up your settings before proceeding with the update.

Additional Effects

Three new effects have been introduced in version 3.70: Prize Drive, Regal Bass DI, and Feedbacker. These additions provide more tools for shaping your guitar tone.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

The update addresses several bug fixes, enhancing the overall stability and performance of the Helix/HX system. Notable fixes include addressing signal dropouts in specific scenarios and refining the behavior of certain effects.

New Features

One noteworthy feature is the Auto Value in Cab Delay. This addition simplifies the process of finding an optimal cab sound by automatically adjusting the delay when changing the mic Distance parameter. While some may appreciate this new feature, Line 6 recommends leaving the Delay set to the default "0.0 ms" for most users.
