UPDATE 02/02/24

More leaked images appeared on eBay (which has now been pulled) of this same Epiphone Adam Jones Silverburst model, though this time from another dealer. It appears to indicate that a round mirror for the headstock is included as case candy in the package. It can be seen in the bottom left-hand corner of the image below.

The eBay seller also states it weighs 9 pounds, 1.68 ounces, so pretty light compared to an original late ’70s Norlin-era style Les Paul Custom. It’s not a bad thing though. However, we know Adam Jones prefers a heavy guitar himself.

Epiphone Adam Jones ‘non-art’ Silverburst Custom

Essentially, this Epiphone Adam Jones ‘non-art’ Silverburst Les Paul Custom is everything that fans wanted. Without the Art Collection artwork on the rear of the guitar and with the correct Gibson-shaped headstock at last.

Korin Faught

Specifications all look to be the same as previous Art Collection versions, just now it is a regular Silverburst Custom minus all the large artwork, etc However, there is still some subtle Korin Faught art on the rear of the headstock.

Update: Artwork created by Joyce Su and Adam Jones is on the rear headstock.

Seymour Duncan

Previous Art Collection models came equipped with a reverse-mounted Epiphone ProBucker Custom humbucker in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan Distortion in the bridge; both are wired to CTS potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors.

However, some reports are stating this new 2024 version may have the Gibson USA Custombucker (reverse-mounted) in the neck and a Custom-wound Seymour Duncan DDJ in the bridge position.

  1. From what I’ve read it won’t be an Epiphone ProBucker but will be the Gibson USA Custombucker (reverse-mounted) in the neck and the bridge will have a Custom-wound Seymour Duncan DDJ.

  2. Multi-platinum-selling and four-time Grammy Award® winner Adam Jones, from the band Tool, is one of rock’s most talented and sonically innovative guitarists. Now Epiphone has partnered with the Gibson Custom Shop to create a new model that pays tribute to what Adam calls “one of my top favorite guitars of all time” – his Silverburst 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom. It has a three piece maple neck with a custom Adam Jones profile, an ebony fretboard, and a mahogany body with a maple cap. Finished in Antique Silverburst, it also features a Custombucker pickup in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan® Distortion® in the bridge position, along with CTS® potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors. It also has a Gibson “open book” headstock profile and even comes with a replica two-inch convex mirror included in the Deluxe Protector Series hardshell case.
