2290 Dynamic Delay Pedal?
Today TC Electronic has posted on their Instagram account a short video. In the video, which features Steve Lukather's guitar tech Jon Gosnell, we see Jon handed a blurred-out and pixelated effect pedal.
About Time
We then hear him say "Oh my god, this is it!" and an expletive, followed by "This is going to be it" Then we see tomorrow's date flash up as the '26th October' in the well-known red LED display font. Just like the original TC 2290 digital delay's front panel.
TC 2290 Plug-in
It would make sense for this much-loved delay to come back in a pedal format. TC already has a TC 2290 Dynamic Delay Plug-In with a hardware front-end.
1985 Digital Delay
The original '80s TC Electronic 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay rack mount units are much sought after and command high prices on the used market. They were around from 1985-2005 and are the effect that many guitarists would associate with a guitarist like Steve Lukather. It was literally the Industry Standard Digital Delay in most recording studios and live rigs around the world for almost two decades.
